I have to disagree with you.... no one can fix the others, the upper limit of helping out is to point them in the right direction -or at least you so believe-, but however, taking that direction is totally up to them... as for the second part of your statement, I believe that since you're already know which way to go, all what you need is some positive reinforcement, which I believe you can provide for yourself since you're strong and courage enough to admit what you have admitted... wish you the best ...
